Miley Cyrus Biography

Destiny Hope “Miley” Cyrus was born in Franklin, Tennessee on November 23, 1992. She was raised in a suburb of Nashville, where she grew up on her parent’s farm. There she attended Heritage Middle School. Miley is the daughter of country singer Billy Ray Cyrus and Leticia “Tish” Cyrus. Miley has two older half brothers, Christopher Cody, and Trace, and an older half sister, Brandi. She also has a younger brother, Braison, and a younger sister, Noah Lindsay. She was named Destiny Hope because her parents knew that she was going to accomplish great things throughout her life, which she has already proven. She acquired the nick name “Miley” because she kept on smiling (“Smiley”) as a child. Miley also loves pets. She has many pets including dogs, cats, fish, chickens, and several horses.

As a youngster, Miley was inspired by acting. She landed the role of “Kylie” on her fathers TV series “Doc”. In 2003, she played the role of “Young Ruthie” on Tim Burton’s “Big Fish”. She has also appeared in a few music videos’ including one for Rhonda Vincent’s “If Heartaches Have Wings”.

At age 11, Miley auditioned for Disney’s “best friend”. However, Disney executives viewed her as “too small”, and she did not suit the role. Recently, Miley was chosen to be the main character for Disney’s “Hannah Montana” because of her energetic and lively personality.

Besides her obvious acting talent, Cyrus is also a fabulous musician. She has adopted the talent of singing and playing guitar from her musical parents. She has performed for audiences at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon in Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Miley has also been opening for “The Cheetah Girls” on their tours.
